Agnes Blanche Mitchell Wilson, 87, of Quantico, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, April 7, 2011.  Born on August 13, 1923 in Wetipquin, Maryland she was the 9th child to the late Arthur Mitchell and the late Leala Robinson Mitchell. 

 

She gave her life to Christ at a early age, was president of the Communion Stewards. Member of the usher board , church clerk, young adult chour and Starlight Gospel Singers. Her early schooling was in Wetipquin, Maryland, later at McKinley Junior High and graduated from Barringer High in Newark, New Jersey. She was a member of Eastern Star and was district past most noble governor of the Household of Ruth Number 27 of State of Maryland and worthy recorder of number 3008 of Wetipquin. She traveled extensively with the Grand United Order of Oddfellows all over the USA and Islands of the Sea.

 

She went to Gary, Illinois, where the Jackson Five were born, Texas, where president Kennedy was shot, Georgia, where Martin L. King was born, saw the church he attended and his tomb. Also, Tennessee were he got shot and also went to Las Vegas, Hawii, Bahamas, Jamaica and lots more. She just learned to text, loved music, reading and especially doing word puzzels. She enjoyed collecting plates from all the places she vistited. She retired from Nanticoke Seafood now called Coldwater Seafood in Cambridge after 30 years of service.

 

She was married to the late George Wilson for 57 years; from this union they had four children; twin girls, Theresa Robinson and her husband, Alphonso and Constance Wilson; one son, Millard Wilson and his wife, Elvira and baby daughter, Frenzella Wilson; grandchildren, Vernie, Callette, Karen, Tameka, George, Lonell, Carlton and Danny; 22 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews and friends.

 

In addition to her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Mable, Launia, Lillie Mae, Minnie, Amos, Robert and James and a grandson, Melton V. Butts in 2000. A funeral service will be held 11:00 am on Friday, April 15, 2011 at Friendship United Methodist Church, 22078 Wetipquin Road, Quantico, Maryland A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2011 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury.
