Theresia Winola Butts Robinson “Winnie” of Wetipquin, Maryland transitioned from earth to glory on Friday, March 23, 2018 at PRMC in Salisbury, Maryland.Winnie as she was lovingly known was born on July 30, 1943 in Wetipquin, Maryland to the late George and Agnes Mitchell Wilson.
Winnie was known for her beautiful smile and style for fashion. Winnie’s early education was at Wetipquin School and later at the former Salisbury High; she was in the graduating class of 1961. Winnie worked at Montgomery Ward; for over 35 years at Mr. Curley’s and The Men’s Shop for the opening until her passing. Winnie was a very active member at her church Friendship United Methodist Church in Wetipquin. Winnie served as a trustee, communion steward, usher, lay servant, PPR committee, vice president Administrative Council, culinary and decoration for the United Methodist Women, MYF Youth. She also sang in the church choir, 4 Voices United, which was her love and she was also involved in the Eastern Star, Naomi Chapter.
Winnie leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband, Alphonso “Al” Robinson; four sons: Carlton Butts of Wetipquin, Terry Lanell Butts of Salisbury, George Butts of Wetipquin and Shelton Butts, Jr., of York, PA; 21 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; two sisters, her twin, Constance Wilson of Atlanta, GA and Frenzella “Pookie” Wilson of Salisbury; one brother, Millard Wilson (Elvia) of New Castle, DE; two sisters in law, Estella Robinson of Neptune and Audrey Showell (Wallace) of Salisbury; one brother in law, Harold Robinson of Wetipquin and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Winnie was preceded in death by her parents, George and Agnes Mitchell Wilson; two son, Melton Butts and Danny Butts and a grandson, Lanell Butts, Jr. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 11 am at Friendship United Methodist Church in Wetipquin, Maryland. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow the service at the church cemetery.
